Fall Portfolio - 5 bits of information about you

In the Fall of 2024 I have been training for a marathon. 26.2 miles run. The race will be in Napa Valley.

My goal is to run a 4hr. 15min race. My training program call for a total of 465 miles of practice before the race.

This picture is of me after I got back from a run in the rain.

Tool is a heavy metal band that I like to listen to during my workouts. Their off time creates an interesting sound scape. Danny Carry is the drummer. Danny Carry is the best drummer EVER!!

I love to cook. My best dish is Minestrone soup.

The secret is to make the soup the day before and let it cool down so the flavors all come together.

The other food that I love is Mexican food.

I grow up in Huntington Beach California. This is a picture of the Huntington beach pier. The original pier was wood. The pier was destroyed by very large waves in 1988. See pict. below.

The new concrete pier was taller and stronger.

I have surfed under the pier. This is called shooting the pier. It is dangerous because you could hit one of the supports that are covered in barnacles.

This is a drawing of King Neptune, the God of the sea.

Spring Portfolio - 5 bits of information about you

kandinsky.jpeg
Wassily Kandinsky is one of my favorite artists.

Kandisky was an early abstract artist that worked at the Bauhaus (a design school in Germany.)

Kandinsky's art was not concerned with creating recognizable objects, such as landscapes or portraits. Kandinsky believed that colors and shapes could convey meaning.
This is a painting of Bruce Lee I made in 2015. I was experimenting with painting the illusion of movement of a still object.

My favorite Bruce Lee quote is, "I don't fear the man who has done 10,000 kicks. I fear the man who has done 1 kick, 10,000 times."
I have been playing piano for over 20 years. I enjoy jazz and blues.

Check out a demo An Arrival
I made back in 2022.

I recorded all the parts myself on a program called Logic.
